Our client is looking for a Technical Editor
to copy edit and format technical data
sheets to company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Edit and quality check product-related
documents using Word-based template.
-Format and text edit in the Word data sheet
template; learn data sheet standards to
ensure those standards are consistently
met.
-Develop and maintain client relations
skills to interact effectively with
originators on a daily basis.
-Convert PageMaker data sheets to Word and
perform conversions of legacy data sheets.
-Keep current with Word template changes and
communicate and explain these changes to
internal clients.
-Help develop and manage standardized
guidelines for style and terminology usage.
-May be called upon to proofread and edit
other materials (including collateral pieces
such as brochures, manuals, ads, product
highlights).

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
-Undergraduate degree in English or
equivalent education and experience
-Thorough knowledge of English grammar and
usage
-Prior experience working in a two-column
layout is a big plus
-Minimum of three years of proofreading and
editing or related experience
-Excellent MS Word skills
-Word template experience
-Project management skills: ability to
prioritize and manage multiple projects in a
deadline-driven environment
-Must have experience using Windows
operating system and be comfortable working
within a corporate network infrastructure
-Excellent organizational and interpersonal
skills
-Must have workflow and process
comprehension
-Knowledge of engineering or semiconductor
industry helpful, but not required

The chips are used for switching, A/D conversion, audio/video applications, and other purposes. Some technical background is desirable, but not required.

The data sheets range from 12 to 85 pages and have some marketing focus, as often they represent the sole technical material available to prospective buyers. The tracking process to create, review and produce these materials requires strong attention to detail.

Along with excellent project management skills, candidate must have great attention to detail, be a self-starter, and possess good interpersonal skills.

Note:
All work will be done at their facility. You’ll be asked to take a short editing test at the interview.
