We are looking for both an Electronic Planner and a Mechanical Planner for our client in Lexington, MA.
Summary: -Responsible for materials planning support of programs. -This position reviews engineering requests and bills of materials to assess cost and availability of electronic components, generates requests to centralized procurement organization for purchase, and tracks parts through receipt. -A key success criteria is that all electronic component parts are received and in stock in time to support the program schedule. -This person will report on status to the program team; keep the program team focused on critical path components; drive actions necessary to resolve any limiters, such as finding substitute parts, negotiated improved dates with suppliers, etc., and participate in make/buy decisions based on appropriate criteria. -Prior experience in aerospace and/or national laboratory materials management will be given very strong consideration.
Requirements for Electronic & Mechanical Planner Roles: Education: Associates degree or certificate in hands-on Mechanical Job Shop/Associates degree OR certificate in Electronics or equivalent experience as verified by references.
Experience for Electronic & Mechanical Planner Roles: -Either eight years of mechanical job shop hands-on experience as a mechanical job shop planner or eight years of electronic assembly experience as an electronic planner.
Requirements for Mechanical Planner: manufacturing processes, including conventional and CNC machining, precision/close tolerance fabrication processes, heat treating, surface treatment (painting and chemical processing), mechanical inspection, sheet metal fabrication and welding, mechanical part procurement (MIL-spec and commercial hardware and materials). -The planner will: determine the cost effective manufacturing methods, estimate material and labor costs, establish and monitor manufacturing schedules, use SAP Project Systems Module to route and monitor workflow. -Position requires an individual with excellent planning, communication and organizational skills, ability to work effectively with shop supervisors, technical staff and outside vendors. -Experience in estimating mechanical fabrication and assembly experience working at a Government Research and Development facility. Experience working with SAP Project Systems Module preferred.
Requirements for the Electronic Planner: -Five years minimum experience in electronic components planning, purchasing or combination.
Skills Needed for both positions: -Ability to demonstrate excellent planning, communication and organizational skills.

One of our longest standing clients has an immediate need for an Advanced Microelectronic Design Engineer. All work to be performed on-site at our client in Lexington, MA. This is a long-term contract opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES: -Assist engineering staff on a Laboratory- wide basis in conducting research and development of advanced packaging concepts for the study and development of advanced electronic systems. -Design complex Printed Circuit Boards (PCB), Multi Chip Modules (MCM), and Hybrid structures for high speed and high frequency circuit applications. -Develop advanced electro/mechanical packaging concepts and contribute to the design and fabrication of these structures. -Independently perform assignments which require in-depth technical knowledge to and analyze complex design problems and produce original design solutions. -Provide technical recommendations to and maintain continual liaison with supervisor and engineering staff in design approaches, new processes, and technologies to meet program requirements.
REQUIREMENTS: -6 years of CAD experience and 8-10 years of directly related advanced microelectronic packaging experience. -Mentor Graphics Expedition (used to be called VeriBest) and AutoCad design tool experience required. -Two-year degree in Electro/Mechanical design from an accredited technical institute or its equivalent.
